TIG is the slow, controlled process — a tungsten electrode, filler added by hand, and enough heat control to weld thin alloy and stainless without blowing through or distorting the panel.

Aluminium TIG Welding
Aluminium moves fast under heat, so it needs controlled amperage and the right filler to join without burning through or pulling the panel out of shape. We TIG weld alloy ute trays and canopies, tanks, boxes, brackets and thin-wall panels.
Stainless Steel TIG Welding
Stainless benches, frames, fittings and pipework for food-grade and marine environments, welded so the joints can be cleaned properly and won't trap contamination or discolour along the heat-affected zone.
Precision & Finish Quality
Where the weld is going to be looked at as well as loaded, preparation does most of the work: clean material, correct filler, controlled heat and an even bead. That's why TIG is the process we use for anything cosmetic.

TIG Welding FAQs
What's the difference between MIG and TIG welding?
MIG welding feeds a continuous wire electrode and lays metal down fast, which suits thicker steel, repairs and general fabrication. TIG welding uses a tungsten electrode with filler added by hand — slower, but far more precise and cleaner-looking, which is why it's used for aluminium, stainless and anything cosmetic.
Can you TIG weld thin aluminium?
Yes. TIG gives fine control over heat input and filler, so thin aluminium sheet and tube can be joined without burn-through, warping or discolouration — which is why we use it for alloy canopies, tanks and panel work.
Do you do food-grade stainless fabrication?
Yes. We TIG weld stainless benches, frames and fittings for food-grade environments, with welds finished so they can be cleaned properly.
Can you repair a cracked aluminium tray or canopy?
In most cases, yes. Bring the tray, canopy or panel to the Ipswich workshop and we'll assess whether it's a repair or whether the section is better replaced.
