Off Tap Metal Fabrication makes custom fire pits from heavy-gauge mild steel with plasma-cut artwork, built at its Ipswich workshop for customers in Ipswich and Brisbane. Flat-pack or fully welded, plain or powder-coated.
Our fire pits are cut from heavy-gauge mild steel so they hold their shape season after season instead of warping like thin pressed steel.

Handmade, Built to Last
Retail fire pits are pressed from thin steel and buckle after a season of real fires. Ours are cut and welded by hand from heavy-gauge mild steel in the Ipswich workshop, so they take heat year after year and still sit square.
Custom Designs & Sizes
The artwork is plasma-cut into the panels — footy logos, station brands, family names, native scenes, whatever you want in it. Choose flat-pack panels that slot together for easy transport and camping, or a fully welded pit that's ready to light. Finishes run from bare steel that weathers naturally to high-temp powder coat.

Can you build a fire pit to my own design?
Yes — that's most of what we do. Send us a logo, name, image or rough idea and we'll draw it up and plasma-cut it into the panels. Simple bold shapes cut best and cast the clearest firelight.
What steel do you use?
Heavy-gauge mild steel, chosen so the pit holds its shape under repeated heat rather than warping the way thin pressed retail pits do. Bare steel weathers to a protective rust patina; high-temperature powder coating can be arranged if you'd rather keep the finish clean.
What's the difference between a flat-pack and a welded fire pit?
A flat-pack fire pit ships as separate panels that slot together, so it's easy to transport, store and take camping. A fully welded pit is a single permanent unit — more rigid, heavier, and ready to use the moment it arrives.
